Round 10 Team of the Week

Round 10's Team of the Week...

Liam Farrell features for the current Champions in Round 10, as a sensational second half performance ensured Wigan Warriors would claim victory in Thursday’s Grand Final rematch.

Farrell crossed for the Warriors’ fourth try of the evening where he was there in support to receive a timely offload from half-back Harry Smith. The club captain also emerged as the side’s top tackler, with 39 tackles made against the Dragons.

He is joined by team-mates and try scorers Adam Keighran and Luke Thompson. Both Keighran and Thompson came up with three tackle busts a piece as they massively tested the Catalans outfit throughout the full 80 minutes. It was also a first ever try in the Cherry and White for Thompson - the forward crashing over from close range in front his home crowd.

Warrington were worthy winners on Friday night against Hull FC, and it was a George Williams masterclass and a Josh Thewlis hat-trick that sent the Wolves on their way to back-to-back wins at the Halliwell Jones.

There was no stopping Nene Macdonald as he starred in Salford’s Round 10 match away at Huddersfield with another absolutely stunning performance. Macdonald played a part in all three of the Red Devils tries – scoring two and assisting the other. This was as well as making a whooping eight tackle busts and a breath-taking 253 metres in just 19 carries, and rightfully earning Player of the Match.

Leeds Rhinos made it two wins on the spin with significant contributions from both Andy Ackers and Sam Lisone. Lisone topped off a strong Leeds win with his side’s final try as he barged his way past multiple London defenders to score, and Ackers came up with three terrific try assists on the night.

A trio of Robins are included in Round 10’s Team of the Week as Willie Peters’ men have now convincingly defeated both the current Champions and former Champions back-to-back.

Mikey Lewis continues to produce his magic for the East Hull outfit as he racked up eight tackle busts, three tries and a try of his own against St Helens on Saturday, in what was another majestic performance at Sewell Group Craven Park.

Also appearing in this week’s Team of the Week is unsung hero Dean Hadley who went under the posts for the Robins’ match-winning try, and Elliot Minchella whose efforts cannot go unnoticed with a huge shift in both attack and defence in Round 10.

Castleford Tigers' Tex Hoy and Leigh Leopards' Josh Charnley have been chosen in this round's Team of the Week, following two perfect performances in Saturday's first draw result of the 2024 campaign.

Hoy was at the heart of the action again in Round 10 with a try, two try assists, seven tackle busts and 196 metres made - offering fresh attack and ideas which the Tigers have lacked in the opening rounds.

Likewise, Charnley made a staggering 252 metres for Leigh, including seven tackle busts, and also contributed one try and one try assist.
