Rugby League fans are being urged to reserve the Bank Holiday weekend of 3rd and 4th of May in their sporting diaries as a Round of engage Super League returns with a bang to the Welsh capital.

Millennium Magic 2008 will again feature all 12 engage Super League teams playing a match at Cardiff’s magnificent Millennium Stadium over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Saturday will feature newly promoted Castleford Tigers in their first visit to the Millennium Stadium battling against local rivals Wakefield Wildcats. The Tigers will be eager to gain some revenge after the Wildcats condemned them to relegation in the last game of the 2006 engage Super League season.

The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats meanwhile will have a point to prove after losing convincingly to Huddersfield last year whilst they will also be looking to retain bragging rights over their neighbours.

As a result of Castleford replacing Salford in engage Super League Warrington Wolves will now face Huddersfield Giants in what has traditionally been a closely fought encounter.

The highlight for many fans will be the massive West Yorkshire derby between Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos. And the encounter which ended so controversially last year is guaranteed to be another blockbuster.

Indeed last year’s encounter between the clubs was one of the most talked about Rugby League matches ever.

On Sunday Rugby League followers will also be treated to the mouth watering clash between old rivals St. Helens and Wigan Warriors which should prove irresistible to passionate fans of the clubs and neutrals alike.

Catalans Dragons will again play Harlequins RL and will be looking to reverse their narrow defeat in what was one of the tightest games under the Millennium Stadium roof last season.

This internationally themed fixture will joined on Sunday by the emotionally charged Hull derby. Hull FC will be desperate to make amends for last year’s 14-10 defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Hull KR as the cities’ sports fans decamp to Wales for the weekend.

The Chairman of Co-operative National League clubs have already agreed to move their fixtures from the May Bank Holiday weekend. This means that the supporters of these clubs will be able to travel down and join the gathering of Rugby League supporters without the fear of missing their team in action.

Millennium Magic is unique to Rugby League as very few sports would be able to create such a superb carnival atmosphere whilst holding six games over one weekend in one stadium.

Fans are being urged to buy their tickets and make their arrangements early in anticipation of what should be a memorable and action packed weekend.
