New Zealand hooker David Faiumu is hoping to make his Huddersfield Giants debut this weekend after belatedly arriving in England.

The 25-year-old signed for the Giants at the start of June but had issues with his paperwork, meaning that his arrival at the Galpharm Stadium was delayed.

But, with his move from the North Queensland Cowboys now complete, Faiumu is looking to make his bow for the club in Sunday's game at Castleford Tigers.

"The last two months have been very frustrating so it's fantastic to finally be here," he said. "I intend to train the house down and hopefully get the nod for this weekend."

Huddersfield moved to sign Faiumu, who has won six caps for the Kiwis, after regular hooker George Gatis returned to Australia for family reasons.
