Hudson escapes RFL charges

Castleford Tigers hooker Ryan Hudson will not be charged with biting England international Sam Tomkins after the Rugby Football League decided there was insufficient evidence.
The Wigan Warriors full-back made the claim during his side’s 40-16 Stobart Super League win over the Tigers at the DW Stadium last Friday.
The incident was put on report by referee George Stokes and the RFL’s match-review panel requested more information from Wigan before deciding whether to bring any charges.
A spokesman said: “The RFL compliance manager has deemed that there is insufficient evidence to support an allegation of biting by Castleford Tigers hooker Ryan Hudson in a Stobart Super League Round 22 match against Wigan Warriors.”
Hull FC prop Mark O’Meley has been fined £500 for punching Salford City Reds captain Stephen Wild during his side’s 34-26 win at the KC Stadium on Sunday.
The disciplinary committee decided not to suspend O’Meley, who was sin-binned for the offence, after taking into consideration his guilty plea, but imposed a fine to reflect the potential for injury.
Wild will maintain his ever-present record in Super League XVII after avoiding suspension for punching.
