Classical music artist Laura Wright will headline the pre-match entertainment at this year’s Carnegie Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday August 25.

Prior to kick-off, Wright who has had over one million album sales, will lead the crowd with her rendition of Abide With Me and the national anthem God Save The Queen.

The Aveley and Newham Brass Band along with Huntingdon Male Voice Choir and Wessex Male Choir will be conducted by Dr Haydn James as they provide musical entertainment.

Before the music gets underway, Castleford Academy and Howard of Effingham will battle it out in the Carnegie Champion Schools Year 7 final, the traditional curtain raiser to the main final.

To show support to the All Join Jack charity, Jack Johnson will carry out the coin toss using the traditional ‘Eddie Waring coin’ before the prestigious final.  Fans can show their support to the charity by tweeting photographs of themselves doing the ‘Join Jack salute’ and including #RLChallengeCup. Or uploading salute photographs on to the official Challenge Cup facebook page: www.facebook.com/thechallengecup

This year will see the Cup final played out on the famous Wembley pitch for the 70th time since the competition debuted there in 1929 and to commemorate the occasion the teams will be led out by members of the military in front of their respective fans before taking their place for the national anthem.
