Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have appointed former player Ryan Hudson as the club’s youth development manager.

The 32-year-old hooker retired as a player at the end of the season with Castleford Tigers and is returning to his hometown club where he made 51 appearances from 2000 to 2001.

“I am really excited about the future,” said Hudson, who is a qualified personal trainer, sports nutritionist and clinical hypnotherapist.

“I am looking forward to helping the kids and working with the youth development to see them develop into full-time, first-team players which will be great.”
