Addy pens new Bulls contract Super League

Bradford utility man Danny Addy has become the fourth out-of-contract Bulls player to sign a new deal with the club.

The 21-year-old, who made 13 appearances in Super League in 2012, has agreed a new 12-month contract.

Bradford coach Francis Cummins, who has also re-signed Chev Walker, Manase Manuokafoa and Jarrod Sammut, said: “I am delighted we have been able to retain Danny for next season.

“He is a very talented player who, whilst he does offer great utility value, should be looking to be more position specific next season.

“I am looking for Danny to put his hand up and stake a claim for a place in the back row.”

Addy, who made three starts at stand-off this year, said: “Franny and I spoke this week and he told me that he wants me playing in the back row.

“I think that’s my best position - loose forward or second row - and I would be more than happy to do a job there week-in, week-out.

“Franny played a big part in my decision to sign a new deal. What he said convinced me that this is the club I definitely want to be at for a while now and I’m absolutely delighted to have signed a new contract.”
