Hull KR have called off talks with local businessman Tony Larvin over his proposed multi-million pound investment into the club.

Larvin, a former junior player with the Robins, had publicly indicated a willingness to plough as much as £15million into the Super League club but officials say three months of talks came to nothing.

Hull KR moved to bring the matter to a close last month by placing a deadline of January 31 on Larvin to make a first payment into the club account.

That deadline passed last Friday without comment from either party but today Rovers confirmed that talks were now over.

A statement said: "Club officials had been in contact with Mr Larvin during the last three months but promised funds have not materialised.

"Therefore, the club will now actively pursue other avenues of potential new investment and will not be making any further comment at this time."
