Coach ditches gentle approach

4th March 2013
Hull FC coach Peter Gentle has pledged to ring the changes for the visit of Castleford Tigers on Friday after angrily condemning the players involved in their 36-16 defeat by Widnes Vikings.
The Black and Whites are in 12th place after the first five rounds of Super League, only a point above bottom club Salford City Reds, and Gentle is ready to wield the axe.
“We keep on making the same mistakes and it’s time to get some people out there who will carry out the job,” he told the club’s website www.hullfc.com.
“The players out there aren’t getting the message so it’s time to bring in some players that will.”
Hull suffered a body blow on the eve of the season when newly-appointed captain Gareth Ellis suffered a fractured foot. They have been without another high-profile close-season recruit, Daniel Holdsworth, for the last two matches.
Holdsworth looks certain to return to face Castleford, along with a host of new faces.
