Eagles swoop for Gledhill

Sheffield Eagles have signed former Wakefield Trinity Wildcats prop Ben Gledhill on loan from Salford City Reds.
The Eagles swooped for the 23-year-old after losing Liam Higgins with an ankle injury and say he is in contention for Thursday’s Kingstone Press Championship match against Featherstone Rovers, a repeat of last year’s Grand Final which has been switched from Bramall Lane to Don Valley Stadium.
Gledhill played in Salford’s first three matches of the new Super League season but has not featured in the last three, and is not in the plans of interim head coach Alan Hunte for Friday’s home game against Warrington Wolves.
“He’s here on a month’s loan,” said Sheffield coach Mark Aston. “Alan Hunte thinks it’s a good move for the lad.”
