The draw for the third round of the 2013 Tetley’s Challenge Cup has been completed at Iffley Road Stadium, Oxford.

TV actor Kevin Whately, who is better known to many as Inspector Lewis from the popular ITV series, drew the clubs from Pool A while Bruce Ray, the Communications Director of tournament sponsors Carlsberg UK, drew clubs from Pool B.

Host club Oxford will make their debut in the Tetley’s Challenge Cup away to 2012 Northern Rail Cup winners Halifax in one of the stand-out fixtures in the round, which will also see 2012 Championship One winners Doncaster travel to take on South Wales Scorpions.

Three other all-Championships ties will be contested during the third round, which will be played on the weekend of April 6 and 7 and sees Batley Bulldogs host Gateshead Thunder, Whitehaven take on London Skolars and Oldham travel to Hunslet Hawks.

The two other new Championship One clubs were also drawn away from home: Hemel Stags will travel to Ince Rose Bridge whilst Skirlaugh of Hull will host University of Gloucestershire All Golds.
