O'Brien back in Wolves squad Super League

Warrington Wolves coach Tony Smith has called half-back Gareth O’Brien into his 19-man squad for Friday’s trip to Salford City Reds following the completion of his loan spell at Castleford Tigers.

The 21-year-old played twice during his month-long stint with the Tigers, as cover for the suspended Rangi Chase, but has been recalled by the Wolves in the continuing absence of Lee Briers with a neck injury.

Warrington are aiming to avoid a third successive Super League defeat for the first time since 2009.

They lost four league matches in a row that year but sandwiched in between those defeats were victories in the semi-finals and final of the Challenge Cup.
