Castleford forward Oliver Holmes is looking forward to tangling with Super League's form second rower Liam Farrell as the resurgent Tigers go head to head with leaders Wigan Warriors at the DW Stadium tonight.

Farrell is being touted as a potential Man of Steel after making the big breakthrough with both England and the Warriors this year and Holmes says he and his Castleford team-mates are relishing the chance to test themselves against the best.

"I look for challenges every week within games for myself," said the Tigers' home-grown forward, who is an ever-present so far this season.

"Liam Farrell is a top player, as he's proved this year by being selected in the England squad.

"These are the games you want to be playing in. Wigan away is always a fixture that you look out for - it's a big stadium and Wigan are a top side."

While Wigan seek to bounce back after their 13-match winning run came to an end at Warrington Wolves on Monday, Holmes' says the Tigers have a spring in their step after collecting five points from their last four matches, culminating in a 30-28 win over Hull last week.

"Getting a win over a big team like Hull FC is always going to give you a bit of a confidence boost," he said.

"There are bits we still need to improve on and we've worked on them this week. Hopefully we can take that bit of confidence and momentum into the Wigan game."

Wigan coach Shaun Wane is warning his side not to under-estimate their lowly visitors and has identified England ace Rangi Chase as the biggest threat.

"They will come here really confident," he said. "Castleford are playing really well.

"It will be a challenge for us. They do have some great attacking threats and Rangi Chase in particular at half-back and Daryl Clark at hooker are both playing out of their skins."

In tonight's other games, Huddersfield Giants seek to keep the pressure on the Warriors when they host fifth-placed Catalan Dragons at the John Smith's Stadium while St Helens will leapfrog Hull KR into seventh place if they beat them at Langtree Park.
