Hull FC and Wigan Warriors have already confirmed their place at Wembley Stadium for the 2013 Tetley’s Challenge Cup final on Saturday August 24 but Rugby League fans will have to act fast if they are to join the teams at one of British sport’s grandest events.
The historic clash will see the sides meet in the final for the first time since 1985, considered the greatest Cup final of all time by many, and has captured the imagination of Rugby League fans across the country with four of seven ticket categories having already sold-out, before the Hull general sale began today, and the latest figures indicating less than 20,000 tickets remain across all sales outlets.
Tickets for the highly-anticipated decider remain on sale in the £31, £41 and £51 categories and can be purchased direct via the Hull FC club shop, Wigan Warriors ticket hotline on 0871 6633 552 or through the RFL ticket office direct at www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk or 0844 856 1113.
With Wigan aiming to repeat their Wembley success of 2011 and Hull hoping to end their record of never having won at Wembley, the demand for seats has already seen a number of tickets being sold on unauthorised resale websites and Rugby League fans are reminded that the safest way to purchase a ticket for the Cup final is through official sales outlets.
For fans making a weekend of the trip to Wembley there will also be a special Rugby League World Cup Roadshow taking place in Trafalgar Square on Friday August 23 from 10am to 4pm.
The Roadshow will include the Rugby League World Cup, England coach Steve McNamara, England captain Kevin Sinfield and Rugby League Legend Martin Offiah and there will also be coaching classes with local children and an exhibition of Wheelchair Rugby League.
See the Rugby League World Cup website www.rlwc2013.com for further information on the event which is helping to promote the ‘Big Hit’ World Cup semi-final double header on November 23 at Wembley.
