Patrick blow for Giants

Huddersfield Giants opening-day win over First Utility Super League champions Wigan Warriors has come at a cost with forward Larne Patrick set to miss the next three months through injury.

The 25-year-old Wales international was carried off on a stretcher after being hurt in a tackle just before half-time in the Giants' 24-8 win at the DW Stadium on Friday and today was told he dislocated his knee and damaged ligaments.

"Huddersfield Giants forward Larne Patrick will miss the next 12 weeks of the season after scans confirmed that he had dislocated his knee cap and damaged his medial ligaments in Friday's season opener against Wigan Warriors," the club confirmed.
