Wigan Warriors forward Greg Burke's move to Bradford has been cut short by a dislocated shoulder but he will be loaned back to the Bulls once he is fit again.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Bulls on a month's loan a week ago, is facing two months on the sidelines after sustaining the injury on his Bradford debut in last Friday's 44-16 defeat at Hull FC.

"He had it X-rayed at Bradford and nothing showed up but we had it scanned in detail and it's come up with a dislocation so it will be six or seven weeks," Wigan coach Shaun Wane said.

"Then he'll go back to Bradford. It will do him good to do another month somewhere else."

Meanwhile, former Bradford forward John Bateman is set to be dropped despite making a promising start to his career with the First Utility Super League champions.

The 20-year-old England academy captain, a close-season recruit from the Bulls, has played in Wigan's last two Super League matches after making his debut in the World Club Challenge.

Wane has been impressed by the second rower but is determined to treat him with caution after believing he was overplayed by his former club and is set to give his spot to Jack Hughes against Hull KR at the DW Stadium on Friday.

"I'm stubborn," Wane said. "He's played really well but he more than likely won't play this weekend because we're going to treat him differently to how he's been treated in the past.

"I said to myself at the start of the year that, no matter how good his form is, he's not going to play many games this year because I want to make sure he's good for next year and the year after and more importantly the year after that.

"I also need to give Jack Hughes some game time, I need to be fair to him."

Wane expects to have skipper Sean O'Loughlin, prop Gil Dudson and centre Darrell Goulding back from injury for the visit of the Robins.
