7 games 1 venue… it can only be the Magic Weekend!
In just four weeks time we will be sat at the Etihad Stadium talking about the big moments from the games from Saturday whilst waiting in eager anticipation of another 3 matches on the Sunday.
This year the Magic Weekend returns to the Etihad Stadium for the third consecutive year and it promises to be another cracking weekend of action. With less than five weeks to go till kick-off; fans, players and everyone involved in the event is getting excited, and I for one can’t wait for it to begin!
With fans keen to be at the event and record sales already on the board it looks like this Magic Weekend is setting up to be the biggest and best yet, with 30,000 tickets already sold for the weekend and some areas of the ground getting close to selling out.
In the run up to Magic Weekend we will be re-living some of the Magic Moments from previous years. Keep an eye out on the Super League Facebook and Twitter feeds for some classic moments both on and off the pitch. Let us know your highlights and favourite moments too via social media using #magicweekend
Previous year’s encounters have provided some memorable moments of Rugby League action, who can forget the Leeds v Bradford match in Cardiff from 2007 or the grandstand finish to the Hull Derby in 2012? With Super League looking more competitive than ever this year we are surely in for some more memorable moments this year.
Away from the pitch, there is always plenty to keep you entertained between matches; the fan zone always has plenty to get involved with, be it Rugby Skills challenges, sponsor promotions or just enjoying a beer in the sunshine (hopefully!). If you are planning on bringing food & drink to the Stadium with you, don’t fall foul of the Etihad’s rules – no food and drink to taken into the stadium or concourses.
Make sure to look out over the coming weeks for more news, updates and #magicweekend Magic Moments as we get closer to the event.
