Centre Leroy Cudjoe scored twice and set up two others on his 100th club appearance to help Huddersfield Giants secure fourth place in Engage Super League with a nine-try romp against Harlequins RL.
Fit-again Danny Brough crossed for one try and kicked seven goals, while Joe Wardle (two), Jermaine McGillvary (two), Graeme Horne and Scott Grix also ran in tries.
Chris Melling and Tony Clubb touched down for Harlequins but the visitors never looked in the game as Cudjoe made sure his hometown side claimed fourth spot in style ahead of the play-offs.
A run of five defeats in six matches, thanks in part to injuries to key players, meant Huddersfield were in danger of slipping up, but the Giants started the match knowing victory would see them pip Leeds Rhinos and Catalan Dragons for the coveted fourth place.
The hosts made a flying start as Cudjoe, who signed a new four-year contract last week, latched onto Luke Robinson’s final pass to dive over after just seven minutes.
Cudjoe also stopped a Quins breakaway on 13 minutes, expertly stepping in to make an interception after Robinson’s misplaced pass had allowed Chris Bailey to race clear.
Cudjoe was again at the centre of the action on the half-hour when he caught a Brough high kick and somehow managed to offload to the oncoming Horne while being tackled. The interchange was completed in mid-air, with Horne taking the ball on to score a classy touchdown.
Further tries from Wardle and McGillvary put the Giants in cruise control, although Huddersfield had a blip before half-time when Kevin Brown's misplaced pass was intercepted by Quins winger Chris Melling, who surged from the halfway line to score near the posts.
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first as Huddersfield assumed control. McGillvary crossed for his second try with Cudjoe then selling the Quins defence a dummy on 53 minutes and bursting clear before passing inside for Brough to score.
Brough converted and kicked seven out of nine goals, meaning he has now kicked 102 goals since joining the Giants.
After going 34-6 up midway through the second period the Giants took their foot off the pedal and conceded a sloppy try as Mark Calderwood took advantage of static defending to put Clubb in for an easy score.
But Huddersfield woke up again and scored three tries in the final five minutes.
Wardle got his second of the match when McGillvary palmed down a Brough high kick, then Cudjoe completed his brace and right on the hooter full-back Grix powered to the line after being put through by McGillvary.
