St Helens have utility back Gary Wheeler ready to take over on the left wing from the unavailable Francis Meli, partnering new signing Sia Soliola.
Prop Nick Fozzard and hooker Scott Moore are selected following their return to the club while Kyle Eastmond is the new scrum-half partner for Leon Pryce following the departure of Sean Long.
Hull FC are set to start with Craig Hall on the wing in the absence of the injured Mark Calderwood.
Australian hooker Shaun Berrigan makes his first appearance since August after recovering from shoulder surgery and there are debuts for skipper Long, centre Jordan Turner and forwards Craig Fitzgibbon and Mark O’Meley.
