Betfred Super League Awards are coming

Whilst the Grand Final is the biggest night in Super League, this Sunday will be the glitziest night in Super League when the stars of the game take to the red carpet for the Betfred Super League Awards at the Lowry theatre, Salford.

In a re-vamped look for the awards, the whole evening has been re-designed and the dress code altered to allow the players to showcase their personalities by dressing to impress – and the five contenders for Man of Steel will be looking sharp thanks to Harvey Nichols in Manchester & Leeds who have provided outfits to the players for the event.

The evening promises to be a celebration of a great season and will include the crowning of the ultimate accolade; the Telegraph Woman of Steel and the Steve Prescott Man of Steel.

The five contenders in the running for the Man of Steel are; Blake Austin (Warrington Wolves), Lachlan Coote (St Helens), Jackson Hastings (Salford Red Devils), Liam Watts (Castleford Tigers) and George Williams (Wigan Warriors).

Vying to be crowned Woman of Steel are; Kelsey Gentles (Castleford Tigers), Courtney Hill (Leeds Rhinos) and Emily Rudge (St Helens).

Other awards to be presented on the night include;

  • Top Try Scorer 
  • Top Tackler 
  • Fan’s Entertainer
  • Foundation of the Year
  • Spirit of Super League 
  • Coach of the Year
  • Young Player of the Year

Also honoured during the show will be this year’s crop of retiring players, many of whom have been fantastic servants to sport over the past twenty seasons, including Danny McGuire, Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Ben Westwood, Greg Bird and Mark Minichiello.

With 1,500 fans attending, the event it’s set to be a colourful evening with fans encouraged to show their support for their team by wearing club colours and getting involved in supporting their players.

The show, hosted by Gethin Jones and Jenna Brooks, will be a cinematic experience with content overseen by Super League’s Creative Director, Lee Hicken and his team at The City Talking.

Limited tickets are still available from each of the 12 Super League clubs and fans are encouraged to contact their club directly for further information.

Fans not lucky enough to have a ticket for this event will be able to follow the action via a live stream on the Our League App or via Betfred’s Facebook page.
