Round 11 Team of the Week

England’s mid-season international against the Combined Nations All Stars opened the door for some of Betfred Super League’s rising stars to shine in round 11 – along with a few familiar faces.

Warrington Wolves continued their scintillating run of form with a 44-18 win against bottom of the table Leigh Centurions. Wolves hooker Danny Walker was superb on Thursday Night - he scored and set up a try, made 5 tackle busts, 33 tackles and provided 2 line-break assists during a Man of the Match display.

Steve McNamara’s Catalans Dragons side cemented their place at the top of the Betfred Super League table after defeating Castleford Tigers at the Jungle. Josh Drinkwater ran the show for the Dragons – he finished the evening with 2 try assists, 2 line-break assists and a 40/20.

An outstanding team performance from Wakefield Trinity earned them their fourth win of the season at home against Wigan Warriors. Tom Johnstone set up 2 tries on his return to action whilst centre Joe Arundel ran for 212 metres from 21 carries, including a terrific solo line-break from inside his own half.

Hull FC came from behind to beat Huddersfield Giants 17-10 on Friday Night. Skipper Marc Sneyd was integral to the black and whites revival in round 11, setting up all 3 of his sides tries. He also kicked 2 conversions, as well slotting over the decisive drop goal, sealing his sides seventh win in the league this season.

Leeds Rhinos defeated the Red Devils 38-12 in a feisty affair at the AJ Bell. Full back Richie Myler, who left the field in the final 10 minutes with a nasty finger dislocation, was at his devastating best for the Rhinos. He finished with 2 tries, 2 try assists, 1 line-break, 3 line-break assists and 8 tackle busts against the side he made his Super League debut for in 2009.
