David Fifita signs new Trinity deal

David Fifita has signed a new contract that will see him remain at Trinity for the next three years.

The fan favourite has signed a new three-year deal to keep him in the Red, White & Blue until the end of 2022.

‘The Big Bopper’ has been in outstanding form over the last couple of seasons and currently sits top in the Steve Prescott Man Of Steel rankings!

The 29-year old signed for Trinity midway through the 2016 season and has been a breath of fresh air to watch on the field.

Although Fifita’s Super League career didn’t get off to the best start with a yellow card on his debut, he’s been outstanding for Trinity throughout his time at the club and has established himself into arguably one of Super League’s best players.

The man himself is delighted to have signed and admits he ‘just couldn’t leave Wakefield’:

“It’s great to be here for a number of years. I just couldn’t leave Wakefield. For what they’ve given me and what the fans have given me, I just want to give something back to them. My goal now is to bring a trophy to this club.??

Fifita also paid tribute to his teammates:

“The bond between the players is something I’ve never had with any other club. Everyone comes into one and we’re all one group. Whenever we get a new signing, everyone just embraces the culture. It’s what I love about this club and I just can’t wait for the journey ahead.??

Chief Executive, Michael Carter, added:

“It’s fantastic news for the club that we’ve managed to secure Big Dave for another three years. It’s a real statement of intent of where we want to be.

“I’d say this is one of the biggest deals in the clubs history. Dave has been fantastic for us over the last few years and I’m looking forward to seeing him score plenty of tries down the left wing for us in the future!!

“I would also like to thank Dave’s agent, Craig Harrison, for helping get this deal concluded.??
