Soward set for London debut

27th June 2013

Scrum-half Jamie Soward is set to make his Super League debut for London Broncos in Saturday's basement battle with Salford City Reds, despite arriving from Australia only hours before kick-off.

The 28-year-old, who is joining the Broncos on a short-term contract as a replacement for former captain Craig Gower, has received his visa and is due to board a flight from Sydney tomorrow.

Soward, who is set to arrive in London on Saturday morning, was today named in coach Tony Rea's initial 19-man squad, with the coach indicating that he will make his debut off the bench.

Soward, who will join Penrith Panthers for 2014, was released by St George Illawarra earlier this month and agreed to play out the rest of the season with the Londoners.
