Wildie stays with Wildcats

Wakefield hooker Matty Wildie, the Trinity Wildcats' longest-serving player at the age of 23, has agreed a new one-year contract.

Wildie, who has watched a host of players being sold in recent weeks to solve the club's financial crisis, says he is delighted to extend his stay with his hometown club into an eighth season.

"I wanted to be loyal to the club," he said. "We're obviously going through a tough time but hopefully we can put things right on the field and put it all behind us."
