Castleford and York link up

21st November 2013

Castleford Tigers have linked up with Championship One club York and will launch the partnership with a pre-season friendly on Sunday January 19.

The clubs have come together after scrapping last season's respective dual-registration agreements with Keighley and Hull FC.

Castleford chief executive Steve Gill said: "York City Knights are a club who share a lot of our own philosophies on the game so we are delighted to announce this link with them."

York were relegated from the Championship in 2013 and are hoping their partnership with Castleford will help them win back their place in the second tier of professional rugby league.
