Bradford Bulls have secured the services of a trio of Warrington Wolves youngsters on short-term loan deals.
Winger James Saltonstall, who was in the Italy team that pulled off a shock win over England in October, Joe Philbin and Tom Walker began training with the Bulls today after signing four-week agreements.
The three were left behind when the Wolves’ senior squad flew out to Australia for a pre-season training camp and will be given the chance to gain experience by playing in Bradford’s pre-season friendlies, starting with the clash against Hull FC on January 19.
“We are delighted to have James, Joe and Tom on board,” said Bradford coach Francis Cummins.
“I expect them all to feature over the coming weeks, as we step up preparations ahead of the new season.
“As a trio they certainly bolster our squad in terms of numbers and their enthusiasm, I am certain, will be clear from the outset.
“Though young, they arrive with bags of ability and potential for the future.”
The deals come just 24 hours after Bradford agreed to release new signing Frank Winterstein as they look to claw back a £400,000 budget shortfall.
