Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield is a surprise inclusion in the 19-man squad to travel to Perpignan on Friday after initially being ruled out of the game against Catalan Dragons with an ankle injury.
The England skipper was expected to be sidelined for a fortnight after limping out of his side's win over Warrington Wolves last Friday.
"Kev recovered really well over the weekend," coach Brian McDermott said.
"It was a reasonable twist there and a roll of his ankle. But he's responded really well to treatment and Kev is frantically doing everything he can to try and get it right for Friday.
"Our initial findings after the game meant I honestly thought it would be two weeks but he's got a chance for Friday."
McDermott has drafted 19-year-old stand-off Liam Sutcliffe into his squad as cover for Sinfield.
