Tigers and Rhinos kick off a bumper Rivals Round on SuperLeague+

The classic Easter derbies of the Betfred Super League will be available to more fans than ever around the globe in 2024 through SuperLeague+ - and it all kicks off with a bonus FREE fixture when Castleford Tigers host Leeds Rhinos on Thursday night.  

The launch for the 2024 season of SuperLeague+, a global, direct to consumer streaming service, means that for the first time, a St Helens supporter in San Francisco or a Wigan fan in Wellington will be able to select live coverage of Rugby League's original "Derby" on Good Friday - which will be shown live to the UK audience by Sky Sports from 3pm, the third of six Rivals Round fixtures across the Easter weekend. 

With the exception of areas with exclusive overseas broadcast deals such as UK, Australia, South East Asia and the Caribbean, all six of the fixtures in the Betfred Super League Rivals Round will also be available live to SuperLeague+ subscribers.

And for the first time since the launch of SuperLeague+ in February, the first game of the Easter weekend between the Tigers and the Rhinos has been made free to view - allowing even more fans around the world to get a taste of the passionate local rivalries that make the Betfred Super League so special.

The appeal of the Rivals Round was underlined when two Good Friday fixtures - Saints versus Wigan at the Totally Wicked Stadium, and the Hull derby at Sewell Group Craven Park - sold out well in advance.

Ticket sales are also strong for Castleford on Thursday night, and for both of the Easter Saturday fixtures - with Warrington Wolves hosting Catalans Dragons in a 3pm blockbuster, before Salford Red Devils renew their local rivalry with Leigh Leopards at 530pm.

The Warrington-Catalans clash has also been selected by BBC Sport for live coverage on iPlayer and red button, as part of the new three-year broadcast partnership with RL Commercial.

That leaves the Super League stage clear on Easter Sunday for London Broncos versus Huddersfield Giants, as Mike Eccles' team aim for their first win of the season - although there are also intriguing matches in the Betfred Championship and League One that afternoon, with York Knights hosting Toulouse Olympique, and another local derby between Oldham and Rochdale Hornets at Boundary Park which will be shown live on The Sportsman.
