Aydin and Brown part of Hull swap deal

Hull FC have confirmed that Yusuf Aydin has signed permanently with the club, in a deal that sees Jack Brown depart the Black and Whites to Hull KR.

Aydin, who was already on loan with the club from Hull KR, has signed a two-and-a-half year deal which keeps him at the MKM Stadium until the end of the 2026 season.

The 23-year old Turkish international has made two appearances while on loan with the club over the past fortnight against Leeds and Warrington.

The prop, who came through the ranks of the Wakefield Trinity academy before making his debut in 2020, has 54 senior appearances under his belt and will strengthen the Airlie Birds forward options over the coming seasons.

Speaking to hullfc.com, Aydin said: “I’m really looking forward to staying with Hull FC on a permanent deal.

“Right from the get go, everyone made me feel so welcome and not once did I feel out of place.

“Simon [Grix] and Richie [Myler] were keen to bring me to the club and that gave me so much confidence. I’m very grateful for the opportunity and I want to be able to repay them for their faith in me.

“I’m really eager now to give my all for this club and I look forward to playing in the famous Black & White colours front of a really passionate, loyal group of supporters.”

As part of the deal, the club have confirmed the departure of forward Jack Brown having signed for Hull KR.

After making his debut in 2019, Brown has gone on to make 73 senior appearances for the Black & Whites.

The club have thanked Brown for his efforts over the past five-and-a-half seasons, and wished him the very best of luck for the future.

Hull FC’s Director of Rugby, Richie Myler, said: “We’re delighted to have made Yusuf’s move to us permanent.

“His application of the past fortnight has shown a real desire to compete and be a part of what we are building here.

“We’d also like to wish Jack well for the future as he embarks on a new challenge with Hull KR, and thank him for his efforts with Black & Whites.”

Speaking to hullkr.co.uk on his cross-city homecoming, Jack Brown said: "I’m buzzing. Coming early wasn’t something I expected but it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.

"Willie (Peters) sold me the club straight away. Hull KR is in a great spot and hopefully that continues. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in with the boys and learning all I can to develop my own game and help the team.

Brown noted the ‘full circle’ feeling of the move after growing up as a Hull KR fan in the Wow Hydrate East Stand:’ 'Most of my family are Rovers fans. I remember coming to watch Hull KR and standing in the East Stand with them and now with the move it feels things have come full circle.’

Hull KR Head Coach, Willie Peters said: "We’re pleased to welcome Jack (Brown) to our club. Jack was a local junior and comes from a family of Hull KR fans. We’re glad we’ve had the opportunity to welcome Jack back home.

"Jack is a young front rower with his best years ahead of him. He possesses good footwork with a strong offload game and he’s hard to handle with the ball. Jack’s aggressive in defence and has plenty of upside to his game.

"I’m looking forward to working with Jack as he develops at Hull KR over the next two and a half years and beyond."

Peters then paid tribute to the departing Robin, Yusuf Aydin as the prop joins Hull FC on loan for the remainder of the 2024 Betfred Super League Season: "I’d like to thank Yusuf Aydin for his contribution to the club over the last 18 months.

"Yusuf has been a great teammate and a pleasure to coach. We wish him all the best for the future."
