Super League Top 50 Players: 10-1

A countdown of the top 50 players from the 2019 Super League season.

10. Zak Hardaker

One of the best full backs in the league, only Lachlan Coote is ahead of him on this list. Hardaker was directly involved in 23 tries, and kicked 89 goals, some of his most memorable moment were his try-saving tackles though.

9. Josh Jones

Josh Jones was voted into the 2019 Super League Dream Team, and the second-rower had an impressive season in his last year at Salford Red Devils before signing for Hull FC.

8. George Williams

George Williams didn't have the dream ending at Wigan Warriors that he had hoped for but in a year full of great halves, he was up there with the best. Williams will join Canberra Raiders in 2020.

7. Tommy Makinson

St Helens were dominant throughout the year, and had class all the way throughout their squad especially Tommy Makinson and Regan Grace on their wings. Makinson finished the season top try scorer and top metre maker.

6. Luke Thompson

One of the best props in the league he made the 2019 Dream Team and his coach Justin Holbrook described him as 'the best prop in the world'. In 24 appearances, Thompson scored seven tries and made over 2500 metres.

5. Daryl Clark

The best hooker in Super League, Daryl Clark is a machine for Warrington Wolves, his pace matched with his work ethic helps him cover so much distance for the Wire, he made 19 assists and scored seven tries, whilst making 2658 metres and 882 tackles.

4. Liam Watts

The best prop in Super League this year, he was in the top five shortlist for the Man of Steel award. Watts made over 3000 metres, 937 tackles and more offloads than any other play in Super League (62).

3. Lachlan Coote

The best full back in Super League, Lachlan Coote made a lasting impression on Saints fans who quickly came up with a song for the terraces about their new signing. Coote was directly involved in 36 tries, kicked 95 goals and made 2280 metres.

2. Jonny Lomax

Jonny Lomax will feel unfortunate not have been in the Dream Team or the shortlist for the Man of Steel award. Lomax played in the halves for Saints this year and was instrumental in Saints' dominance in the league. Lomax had a direct involvement in 37 tries and made 2156 metres.

1. Jackson Hastings

The 2019 Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel winner, and fully deserved, consistently throughout the season, Hastings was the best player on the pitch. Hastings was Salford's playmaker, he made 36 assists, more than any other Super League player, 3763 metres, and 117 tackle busts.
