Glen’s Vodka link with Super League’s Player of the Month award for 2023

Three new signings are included on the six-man shortlist for Betfred Super League's first Player of the Month in 2023 - an award that will now be sponsored by Glen's Vodka, with the winner decided by the votes of supporters on the Our League app - and unveiled exclusively by Jenna Brooks on Sky Sports News next Wednesday afternoon (March 8) from 330pm on The Rugby League Verdict.
Tom Johnstone, the England wing who has scored four tries in two matches since swapping Wakefield Trinity for Catalans Dragons, is joined by Tex Hoy, who has made such an impressive instant impact at full-back for Hull FC and Hoy's fellow Australian Paul Vaughan, the powerful prop who has joined Warrington Wolves and led from the front as they have opened the season with consecutive victories over Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Giants.
Vaughan is one of two Wolves forwards on the list, with the outstanding February form of James Harrison also recognised - as he continues to follow in the footsteps of his father, Karl, the revered former Hull FC, Halifax and Great Britain prop.
The shortlist is completed by two players who have excelled in Hull KR's equally impressive start to the season - captain Shaun Kenny-Dowall, who scored a hat-trick in their opening win against Wigan, and half-back Jordan Abdull, whose pinpoint kicking was pivotal in last week's victory at Salford.
Voting is open now and closes on Sunday (March 5).
