Jamie Peacock: History will repeat itself

In his latest Daily Mirror column, Jamie Peacock previews this weekend's mouth-watering Betfred Challenge Cup Semi-Final contests.

They say history repeats itself and I reckon it will today.

It’s the Betfred Challenge Cup semi-finals with Hull KR and Wigan facing each other just like they did last year.
And just like then, I think KR are going to win it in extra-time again.

There is recent history between these two clubs who play a very similar style of football, are both very tough, very competitive and extremely fit.

But at the moment, Rovers just have a slight edge over Wigan.

It’s only by the narrowest of margins but I do feel they have the upper hand.

They served up an epic semi-final last time when Brad Schneider won it in golden point and I expect this to be the same just because of how similar the sides are.

It’ll go down to the wire with KR again coming good.

They will be desperate to get back to Wembley but this time win it. Wigan are the same: they’ve won the Challenge Cup before under Matty Peet and we all know their history in this competition so it should be an absolute classic.

Both teams are fantastic to watch with two fantastic coaches, Willie Peters this week signing a new deal for Rovers.
In tomorrow’s other semi-final, I fancy Warrington to see off Huddersfield.

Wolves have seen a great turnaround under Sam Burgess. They are a team that is playing for their coach and one that now loves defending. That is very unlike Warrington. But they are doing a lot of things which are a joy to watch. A lot of that is based around choices, good attitude and chasing hard and working hard in defence.

Huddersfield have been up and down under Ian Watson. They can be really good or get absolutely hammered.
