BWSL: Round 7 Round Up
8 Jul 2024

Wigan Warriors and St Helens both maintained their strong starts to the season with victories in the Betfred Women's Super League on Saturday.
New league leaders Wigan thrashed Featherstone 50-0, while St Helens defeated Leeds Rhinos 16-6 live on The Sportsman.
In a tentative first half of a rematch of last month's Challenge Cup Final - also won by Saints - Tara Jones' try gave the visitors a 4-2 lead at the break after an early Leeds penalty.
Faye Gaskin, who failed to convert Saints' first try, crossed the line herself in the 66th minute and Zoe Harris applied the conversion.
Leeds set up a dramatic finish as Evie Cousins crossed to make it 10-6 four minutes from time but Harris responded with a try and Gaskin converted to secure Saints' third successive win over Rhinos this year.
Wigan made easy work of bottom side Featherstone, with Eva Hunter, Georgia Wilson, Rachel Thompson and Grace Banks scoring tries before half-time.
Jenna Foubister, Rease Casey and Anna Davies added second-half tries, while Wilson and Banks each scored again and Isabel Rowe landed seven of nine kicks.
York Valkyrie thrashed Barrow Raiders to move up to third, as Huddersfield Giants battled back to beat Warrington Wolves for just their second win of the Women's Super League season.
After trading the lead three times in the first 48 minutes, Amelia Brown's try to make it 10-10 with 28 minutes remaining set the Giants up for a convincing victory.
Another score from Brown, two from Mollie Iceton, and a second from Lois Naidole completed the 32-10 win that moves Huddersfield up to sixth in the table and above Barrow, who were beaten 44-0 by the Valkyrie.
Emma Kershaw scored three of York's seven tries to help the Valkyrie move to within two points of leaders Wigan Warriors with a game in hand.
