Round 14 Preview

We've hit the halfway point of the 2025 Betfred Super League season and the race for the Top Six is ON.

What lies ahead in Round 14?

Friday 13 June

Hull KR v Catalans Dragons (20.00) – live on Sky Sports

Round 14 gets underway with the 2025 Betfred Challenge Cup winners Hull KR hosting Catalans Dragons at Sewell Group Craven Park.

The Robins’ focus switches firmly back to Super League as they look to maintain their place at the top of the table.

The Dragons, on the other hand, will be desperate for the two points; in order to keep up and in the race to the top six.

The two sides met just one month ago in a Challenge Cup semi-final – and it was Hull KR’s stellar second half showing which ultimately blew their opponents away.

Can KR get back to Super League business?

There are three changes to Willie Peters’ cup winning squad with Joe Burgess (knee), Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (calf) and Michael McIlorum (continues his bicep recovery) all dropping out of the squad.

Leon Ruan, Arthur Mourgue and Noah Booth all come into KR’s 21-man squad.

The Dragons, meanwhile, are boosted by the return of some notable names in Sam Tomkins, Tevita Pangai Jr, Julian Bousquet, Tariq Sims, Bayley Sironen and Léo Darrélatour.

Hull FC v Castleford Tigers (20.00) – live on Sky Sports and SuperLeague+

The Black & Whites welcome the Tigers to the MKM Stadium.

John Cartwright’s men are searching for their first home victory of 2025 – can they finally pull it off in Round 14?

They’ve already done once against Castleford back in Round 6, when they beat them 14-24 away at the Jungle.

Hull FC have been forced into one change from the 21-man squad that was named for the Round 13 tie with Catalans. Star man Will Pryce has sustained a hamstring injury, so Will Gardiner has been called up instead.

Cas are also dealt with a blow, as they will be without former Hull man Tex Hoy for Friday night.

Saturday 14 June

Huddersfield Giants v Wigan Warriors (15.00) – live on Sky Sports and SuperLeague+

Saturday’s Super League starts with Huddersfield hosting Wigan at the FLAIR Stadium in Dewsbury.

It’s a tie between two teams in contrasting form – champions Wigan are 2nd in the table, while Huddersfield sit second from bottom with just one win under their belt.

There are milestones in both sides on Saturday – Adam Swift and Liam Marshall need one appearance each to reach 200 for their respective sides.

Warriors wizard Bevan French is also just one try away from 100 Super League tries…

The Giants will be without Adam Swift for Saturday's match. Matty English is the player who comes into the 21-player squad.

Matt Peet makes just one change to the side who defeated the Red Devils in the previous round. Tom Forber returns and takes the place of Kian McDermott.

Leeds Rhinos v Warrington Wolves (17.30) – live on Sky Sports

There’s a Saturday night showdown between Leeds and Warrington at AMT Headingley Stadium.

A rampant Rhinos are searching for a fifth successive victory and things are set to get heated as the Wolves look to bounce back from their heartbreak in the Challenge Cup Final.

Warrington have won their last four matches against Leeds but can ill afford to underestimate the quality in Brad Arthur’s side.

They last met in Round 6 which cooked up a dramatic classic - with a late Jake Thewlis try clinching the win for Sam Burgess' side.

Leeds are currently in third place and continuing to climb high, whereas Warrington find themselves two points adrift from a Play-Off place.

Who will want it more in Round 14?

Brad Arthur will welcome back hooker Andy Ackers. Ackers has not featured since March and could make an appearance on Saturday.

The Rhinos will wear Barnardo's as the main sponsor on the shirts, with money going towards the charity and supporting young people leaving the care system. These limited edition shirts will be auctioned off after the game.

Sam Burgess will not be able to call upon Matt Dufty, who suffered a fractured eye socket at Wembley. Skipper, George Williams, returned at Wembley last weekend and could make his first Super League appearance since the defeat to Hull FC.

Sunday 15 June

Wakefield Trinity v Leigh Leopards (15.00) – live on BBC Two, Sky Sports and SuperLeague+

It’s set to be an entertaining clash between Wakefield and Leigh in front of the BBC cameras, with both sides well in the mix for a top six spot come the end of the season.

The teams have already met twice in 2025 and provided superb spectacles – firstly in Super League when Trinity ran riot at Leigh Sports Village in May; although the Leopards soon enacted their revenge the following week in the Challenge Cup quarter finals.

Will we witness another brutal affair?

It's one a piece so far, but who will emerge victors in Round 14?

Sunday's game will also be sponsored by Team Clarkey Boy in aid of the Candlelighters Trust. Trinity Head Coach, Daryl Powell's grandson was diagnosed with Leukemia earlier this year and Candlelighters have been supporting the families ever since. Money raised at the game will be donated to the charity so they can can continue to support families.

Salford Red Devils v St Helens (15.00) – live on Sky Sports and SuperLeague+

Finally, Round 14 concludes with Salford hosting St Helens at the Salford Community Stadium.

Saints have won each of their last two Super League games against the Red Devils, including their most recent by an 82-point margin back in Round 1, the largest win ever recorded by any team in the competition.

Salford  did win their most recent home game against Paul Wellens' men, however, and this was a 20-18 scoreline in June 2024...
