Meanwhile, let’s take a quick look at the fixtures coming up...

Thursday 28 August

Leigh Leopards v Castleford Tigers – live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

The Leopards have home advantage once again in Round 24 – can they capitalise against a struggling Tigers?

Leigh haven’t lost to Cas since 2021 and have won five of their last six meetings with them by double digit margins.

A win for the hosts would also see them secure a 2025 Play-Off spot.

Friday 29 August

Hull KR v St Helens – live on Sky Sports

On Friday the league leaders will entertain St Helens at Sewell Group Craven Park in front of the Sky Sports cameras, where all focus will shift to this truly mouthwatering contest with plenty riding on it!

The Robins are within touching distance of their first ever League Leaders’ Shield, while Saints can book their place in the 2025 Play-Offs with a victory in this match.

It’s Willie Peters’ men who have completed a double over the Saints in 2025 so far – a comprehensive 34-4 home win in Round 13 and 10-20 away victory in Round 4.

Can make it a hat-trick of wins?

That said, Saints enter this game on the back of a gutsy victory, whereas Hull KR were pumped at Leeds last Thursday Night.

Did you know that Mikey Lewis has scored tries in his side’s last six meetings with the Red V? How pivotal could the current Man of Steel be in Round 24?

There are two changes to each side for Friday's fixture.

For KR, Sauaso Sue (injury) and Rowan Milnes (loan) drop out the extended squad this week with Harvey Horne and Cobie Wainhouse coming in.

For Saints, they've also been dealt with two injury blows to two of their stars - with Owen Dagnall and Kyle Feldt stepping out.

Instead, young Saints Leon Cowen and Jake Davies step into the 21-man squad, and if selected Davies would make his Super League and official Club debut for St Helens.

With less than a few hundred tickets remaining, you won't want to miss this one - with the outcomes of this game HUGE.

Warrington Wolves v Salford Red Devils – live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

Warrington Wolves welcome Salford Red Devils to the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday Night.

Will Sam Burgess’ men bounce back from their terrible loss to Huddersfield in Round 23, or can Salford produce another spirited performance mirroring the one at Leigh, and push their opponents all the way?

Saturday 30 August

Hull FC v Leeds Rhinos – live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

Then, it’s a triple-header of Super League action on Saturday and there’s plenty at stake in Hull FC’s clash with the Rhinos.

In Round 11, it was Ryan Hall’s late match-winner that separated the two sides after an enthralling encounter, as Leeds went on to snatch a 18-16 win at AMT Headingley.

This time, Brad Arthur’s side make a trip down the M62 to play at the MKM Stadium and have the chance to seal their spot in the upcoming Play-Offs if they can muster up a win.

But the Black & Whites will also be keen to win this one, in hope of putting a bit of daylight between themselves in sixth and Wakefield in seventh…

Veteran Hall needs one appearance to reach 400 in Super League – could he possibly be a Leeds hero against FC for a second time this season?

John Cartwright has made two changes from the Hull 21-man squad that was named to face St Helens last week.

Sam Eseh has been ruled out with a hamstring strain, whilst Jed Cartwright (pectoral) will miss the remainder of the season.

Liam Watts is back on deck for the clash with the Rhinos and Callum Kemp joins his twin brother, Lloyd, in this initial squad.

For Leeds, 21-year-old centre Max Simpson is set to make his first appearance since July 2022 after being drafted in to the 21-man squad with co-captain Ash Handley ruled out with a groin injury.

Front rowers Mikolaj Oledzki and Cooper Jenkins are also in contention to return to action.

Wakefield Trinity v Huddersfield Giants – live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

Trinity are back home in Round 24 and Daryl Powell will be hoping for a huge response from his players after disappointing defeats against Wigan and St Helens.

A win for Trin coupled with a Hull FC loss would see them jump back into sixth place and put them in charge of their own fortunes once more.

They’ve already beaten Huddersfield in both league and cup this year, and their league victory saw them dismantle a sorry Giants outfit with a dominant eight-try display.

Luke Robinson’s men are no pushovers, however, and have been known to cause quite a few shocks in 2025.

Most recently, they defeated Warrington in Round 23, which saw the Wolves’ Play-Offs hopes effectively done and dusted.

If the right Huddersfield side turn up on the day, then it could be a closer game than plenty think…

Wakefield welcome back two outside backs into their 21-man squad with Matty Russell and Jayden Myers returning from injury. Young Myers scored two tries against the Giants last time out.

Lachlan Walmsley is rested with Ellis Lingard the other player to miss out on the squad this week.

The only change for Huddersfield is that Taane Milne returns from suspension to take the place of Oliver Russell, who cannot feature vs his parent club.

Catalans Dragons v Wigan Warriors – live on Sky Sports

Games of high importance keep coming thick and fast as the Warriors travel to face the Dragons.

A win for Wigan keeps them in touch with the League Leaders’ Shield race, especially if the Robins fall short against Saints.

The Warriors also have second place to protect, especially with Saints, Leeds and Leigh closing in on them.

At one stage of the season, many thought it was going to be just a two-horse race between Hull KR and Wigan at the top, but things have drastically changed since then..

Back in Round 12, the champions nilled Catalans at the Stade Gilbert Brutus, and have named a strong squad for their second trip to the south of France. Abbas Miski and Ethan Havard are replaced by Harvey Makin and Kian McDermott.

In the Dragons squad, Tariq Sims and Ugo Tison replace Theo Fages and Lenny Marc.
