Wakefield Trinity Head Coach Daryl Powell has agreed a new four-year deal which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2029 Betfred Super League season.
Powell joined ahead of the 2024 Betfred Championship season and secured a treble for Trinity encompassing the Betfred Championship League Leaders’ Shield, Grand Final as well as a memorable victory at Wembley Stadium in the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Final.
Trinity currently sit 7th in the Betfred Super League and with five rounds of the regular season remaining Wakefield will be looking to make their final charge into a play-off spot.
On the extension, Powell said: “Signing this contract was probably the easiest decision I’ve had to make in my whole career.
“I have felt at home at this club since I came and I’m really enjoying building something special in conjunction with Matt and his family. The players have been outstanding and my backroom team is second to none.
“I feel we have a big opportunity to do something special over the coming years and I’m really looking forward to building on the excellent platform we have laid down.
“The way I felt supported during my family’s difficulty this year meant the world to me and I intend on paying back to the unbelievable owners we have at the club.”
Elsewhere, Assistant Coach Michael Shenton has also agreed a new four-year deal whilst Ste Mills has agreed a six-year deal moving into a new role as Director of Rugby.
