Man of Steel: Round 9 Picks

Blake Austin picked up his fourth Man of Steel 3-points this week, he has now overtaken James Roby at the summit of the leaderboard whilst David Fifita picked up another 3-points to take him into the top three.
A member of the panel will watch each Betfred Super League game in 2019 and award points to the three outstanding players: 3 points for their chosen stand-out performer, two points for the runner-up, and 1-point for their third ranked player.
The scores will be made public every week, until Round 22 in mid-July. After that, the poll will be hidden until the Awards Ceremony in October.
Hull KR vs Leeds Rhinos (Danny McGuire)
Danny McGuire was instrumental in helping Hull KR defeat his old side Leeds Rhinos live on Sky Sports on Thursday. He picked up his first Man of Steel 3-points after he scored a try and assisted two, whilst making 110 metres and four attacking kicks.
Warrington Wolves vs London Broncos (Blake Austin)
At the start of the year Blake Austin was Betfred's favourite to win the Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel award, James Roby set the tone early on in the season but Austin has fought back to win two three-points in two games to take him to the top. Against London Broncos he scored two tries, assisted two and made 102 metres.
Wigan Warriors vs Castleford Tigers (Oliver Gildart)
Oliver Gildart picked up 3-points after his display against Castleford Tigers albeit on the losing side. Gildart scored two tries and assisted tries, whilst making 137 metres from 11 carries, last week he made an astonishing 322 metres.
Wakefield Trinity vs Huddersfield Giants (David Fifita)
For the second week running David Fifita picked up another 3-points, this week he scored two tries, and made 134 metres and 34 tackles in Wakefield's dramatic close victory against Huddersfield.
Catalans Dragons vs St Helens (Sam Tomkins)
Sam Tomkins scored 10 of Catalans’ 18 points against St Helens in Perpignan to end Saints’ unbeaten start to the season. Tomkins scored a try, 3 goals and made an assist to help Catalans beat Saints 18-10.
Salford Red Devils vs Hull FC (Josh Griffin)
Josh Griffin scored a hat-trick to haunt his former club Salford Red Devils, Hull FC won 23-16 at the AJ Bell Stadium. Griffin doubled his Man of Steel points tally after picking up three points, he’s now on six points.
