The Wire release their kit for the 2019 Dacia Magic Weekend

Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors mark the 30th anniversary of their match in Milwaukee with this year’s Dacia Magic Weekend shirts.

Warrington Wolves unveil a limited-edition Dacia Magic Weekend shirt for this year’s showcase event at Anfield in May when the Wire play Wigan Warriors in the closing game of Day One, Saturday 25 May.

The white shirt with a primrose and blue ‘V’ represents a piece of the club’s heritage as it marks the 30th anniversary of the Great American Challenge of 1989 when Warrington took on Wigan in Milwaukee in front of a crowd of 17,773.

The Wire team that day was captained by Mike Gregory, who also picked up man of the match, with the likes of Des Drummond, Paul Cullen, Les Boyd and Mark Forster in the side. The opposition featured names like Ellery Hanley, Shaun Edwards, Denis Betts and Andy Gregory.

The design features subtle details to replicate the original with the font of partners One Energy changed to match that of Greenalls from 1989, plus an exact replica of the match logo. This year’s Magic Weekend fixture details are sublimated on the front along with our Wolves’ club badge. The reverse features a list of the full Warrington team that took to the pitch that day.
