Darnell McIntosh signs new contract

Darnell McIntosh has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2021. The 21-year-old full-back has featured in every game this season for the Giants, and has come through the Giants Academy and has penned a new two-year deal to keep him at his hometown club.
McIntosh said on his new deal "When you're in the last season of your contract it's always in the back of your mind. To get something done fairly early on in the season has taken pressure off me. I haven't thought about it too much, I've been working to take it week by week and game by game."
The full-back said that playing for his hometown club helped him make his decision to stay with the Claret and Gold.
"I'm from Huddersfield and come through the ranks here. Just because there was interest elsewhere I wasn't going to walk away from the club. I think I've made the right decision."
McIntosh also highlighted the importance of Head Coach, Simon Woolford, who put faith in him in his new position of full-back, having been top tryscorer for the Giants on the wing in 2018.
"For him to put the trust in me to play in that position was massive. in this position I think I can kick on and see what I'm made of and what levels I can get to."
