Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Ticketing FAQ

Public health considerations – for everyone - and particularly the most vulnerable in all our communities - are everyone’s priority.

The Rugby Football League and Super League continue to follow the Government’s advice. We are in constant contact with the relevant Government Departments who are informed by the national scientific and medical experts.

All tickets purchased with RFL ticketing are subject to the standard terms and conditions of sale which can be found on our ticketing website.

Please understand that due to the high volume of enquiries, our ticketing team is experiencing higher numbers of calls and emails at the current time and it may therefore take a little longer than normal for us to respond.  We will endeavour to respond to all our customers within 72 hours at this time. We are working remotely in line with the government restrictions and we appreciate your patience.

Event update

Dacia Magic Weekend 2021 has now been confirmed at James’ Park, Newcastle on 4 and 5 September. This decision follows the progress made in the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccine, increasing the prospect of fans being able to attend in significant numbers.

Any tickets purchased for 2020, and where a refund has not been requested, will be valid for Dacia Magic Weekend in 2021. We thank you for your continued patience, support and understanding at this uncertain time.

However, if given the revised dates you can no longer attend Dacia Magic Weekend on 4 and 5 September, applications for Refunds and Credit Notes are now open until 28 March 2021.

Please note that whilst every effort will be made to locate your seats in the same area for the 2021 Magic Weekend we cannot guarantee this this will be possible in all cases. Should your seats need to be relocated, they will be transferred to a location that matches the price band that you paid for the 2020 Magic Weekend. Additionally, if restrictions still apply at the time it may be required to convert all previously unreserved areas of the venue to reserved seating. This means that you may be required to remain in the same seat throughout the duration of the event where this was previously not the case.

Consequently, we have prepared some FAQs to provide you with some further information.

FAQ

Q. Will my 2020 ticket(s) be valid for Dacia Magic Weekend 2021?

Yes as per the RFL ticketing terms and conditions your existing tickets will remain valid for the event in 2021 and you don’t need to do anything.

Q. What happens to my ticket(s) if I cannot attend the 2021 event?

We wrote to all ticket purchasers on 29 June 2020 when the 2020 event got cancelled. We then gave people an opportunity to claim a refund or credit note until 11 August 2020

If you cannot attend the new dates of 4 and 5 September 2021, you have a further opportunity until 28 March 2021 to apply for a Refund. To do so, please follow the instructions in the section below.

To make it easier for customers who did not claim a refund in this time we transferred all tickets to the exact same seats for the 2021 event.

Q. If I want the credit for a ticket(s) to another major Rugby League event this year or next what do I do?

To opt for this option correspondence relating to credit notes must be marked ‘MATCH CREDIT NOTE’ and e-mailed to 2020events@rfl.co.uk.

The request must be made by the person who purchased the tickets (account holder). The name and address of the person who made the original booking must be supplied in BLOCK CAPITALS for a credit note to be given. You must also include either your order or customer reference number and stipulate that you bought tickets for Dacia Magic Weekend.  As no tickets for 2020 events were issued you are not required to return any printed tickets.

To help us manage this process we ask that you make your credit request before 28 March 2021. All customers who request a match credit will be notified when it is available to redeem for a future event.

PLEASE NOTE: If a ticket purchaser hasn’t claimed a refund or credit note by midnight on 11 August 2020 the booking will be transferred to Dacia Magic Weekend 2021, but is still available to refund or claim as a credit note due to the revised event date.

PLEASE NOTE: Credit Notes are not available via any other form of communication including other mailboxes or over the telephone. Where possible please refrain from calling our box office.  We are working remotely in line with the government restrictions and we appreciate your patience.

Q. I know I don’t want to attend the event in 2021. When can I request a refund?

Given the unprecedented circumstances, we understand that some fans may be eager to receive their money back as soon as possible.

Ticket purchasers are able to apply for a refund from 10 February 2021 until  28 March 2021.

Correspondence relating to refunds must be marked ‘MATCH REFUNDS’ and e-mailed to 2020events@rfl.co.uk.

You must also include either your order or customer reference number and stipulate that you bought tickets for Dacia Magic Weekend. As no tickets for 2020 events were issued you are not required to return any printed tickets.

PLEASE NOTE: If a ticket purchaser hasn’t claimed a refund or credit note by 28 March 2021 the booking will be transferred to Dacia Magic Weekend 2021.

PLEASE NOTE: Refunds are not available via any other form of communication including other mailboxes or over the telephone. Where possible please refrain from calling our box office.  We are working remotely in line with the government restrictions and we appreciate your patience.

Q. How long will my refund take?

Please allow 28 days from the date of your request for your refund to appear in your account. We ask for you not to contact us as we work through your refund process.  We are working remotely in line with the government restrictions and we appreciate your patience.

PLEASE NOTE: Refunds for multiple events or multiple days of events may appear separately in your account.

Q. The card I used for payment has expired/been cancelled, can I request a refund to a different card?

Unfortunately, we can't issue a refund to any new cards you might have. On the advice of our bank, we only refund the card that was originally used to pay. Most of the time, if you've had a replacement card for the same account the refund will go into your account automatically and you won't need to do anything. If your account is closed or you've had a replacement card and the refund still isn't appearing in your account after 28 days, please contact your card issuer. They'll be holding the funds for you and will be able to arrange a transfer to your new account. Unfortunately, we can't reclaim the money and issue the refund to a new card for you.

Q. I haven’t received my refund yet, what should I do?

Please allow 28 days from the date of your request for the refund to appear in the account. If it still hasn’t appeared, please double check the card you have used for the payment. If this card has since expired or been cancelled please see above.

PLEASE NOTE: Refunds for multiple events or multiple days of events may appear separately in your account.

Q. I have purchased ticket(s) for an event with someone other than RFL ticketing (e.g. my Club), how do I get a refund?

Please speak to the point of sale from where your ticket originates for further information. Clubs will operate their own refund policies, many of which can be found on Club websites and they will communicate further information for fans who have purchased directly with them.

Q. I have purchased ticket(s) for the Dacia Magic Weekend via Group Sales, how do I get a refund?

As with all other fans we would like to offer you the option to keep your current tickets and attend the event in 2021. If you wish to take this option, you do not need to do anything at the moment and the Group Sales Team will be in touch with you when they return from furlough.

Alternatively, we will issue a refund.

To apply for a group sales refund please follow the process outlined above under ‘I already know I don’t want to attend the event in 2021. When can I request a refund?’

Q. Can you compensate me on travel and/or accommodation expenses for events that are now cancelled?

As per the T&C’s of sale, unfortunately we cannot compensate anything beyond the cost of the tickets. In the event of a cancellation, this will be communicated at the earliest opportunity to give ticket holders as much notice as possible.

Q. I have purchased Hospitality ticket(s) for Dacia Magic Weekend, how do I get a refund?

We would like to offer you the option to keep your current tickets and use them as a credit to be used for either Dacia Magic Weekend or Betfred Super League Grand Final in 2020 or 2021, If you wish to take this option you do not need to do anything at the moment and the Hospitality Team will be in touch with you.

Alternatively, a refund can be requested by emailing enquiries@superleague.co.uk with the subject of the email marked as ‘HOSPITALITY REFUND’.
