St Helens beat Salford Red Devils 23-6 to lift the 2019 Super League Grand Final trophy.

Salford's underdog story didn't have a fairytale ending, but it was Justin Holbrook who would have the happy ending at Old Trafford.

Holbrook will leave Saints for Gold Coast Titans a Super League winner in the off-season, his side took an early lead through Morgan Knowles and never looked back.

James Roby showed his class through his assist for Zeb Taia's try to give Saints a 12-0 kick, with Lachlan Coote adding the goals.

Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel winner Jackson Hastings assisted Jake Bibby as Salford look to be in the ascendancy before half-time, but went into the break six points behind Saints.

Saints showed why they have been the best team in Super League for the past two years in the second-half, keeping Salford off the scoresheet.

Mark Percival scored and assisted his own try, before Coote kicked a penalty to secure Saints victory.

Tommy Makinson popped up with three minutes to go and scored his first ever drop-goal of his career.

Saints' prop forward, Luke Thompson, picked up the Harry Sunderland Trophy awarded to the Man of The Match.
