Widdop to miss start of season

Warrington Wolves have confirmed that marquee signing Gareth Widdop has picked up a lower limb injury in training, having rolled his ankle.

He is likely to miss the start of the season with his current prognosis looking at a return around round four.

Widdop will continue to be assessed, with updates from the club to follow accordingly.

Warrington start their 2020 campaign against at the DW Stadium against Wigan Warriors in the season opener on Thursday 30 January (7:45 KO)
