Five Players to Watch

Five Players to watch this weekend!

The five players you should be looking out for this weekend!

Tony Gigot

The French international returns to Super League after leaving Catalans Dragons at the end of the 2019 season. Gigot was an influential figure in his time in Perpignan creating history in 2018 by winning the Challenge Cup and becoming the first ever French player to win the Lance Todd Trophy. He has signed for Toronto Wolfpack on trial.

Marc Sneyd

Marc Sneyd kicked Hull FC to victory last year at the DW Stadium against Wigan Warriors. Sneyd made history by securing the first golden-point victory in Super League. The two sides are evenly matched again this year, and it could come down to Sneyd’s boot once more.

Luke Thompson

Justin Holbrook described St Helens’ prop forward as the ‘best prop in the world’ after his performance in the 2019 Grand Final. Saturday night’s World Club Challenge game is the perfect way to showcase his ability when he comes up against Sydney Roosters. He’ll be up against one of the fiercest props in the world, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.

James Tedesco

One of the best players in the world – James Tedesco – helped New South Wales win the State of Origin series and Sydney Roosters win the NRL Grand Final. On a personal level he won the Wally Lewis Medal for the best player in the State of Origin and Dally M Medal.

Gareth Widdop

Gareth Widdop missed the opening two games of the season due to injury. His Warrington debut could not have come at a more difficult away ground – Wakefield Trinity. Steve Price’s men will return to the Halliwell Jones and get their first glimpse of a Widdop and Blake Austin partnership.
