Leeds Rhinos Squad Update

Leeds Rhinos have received the results for the two players who had Covid 19 antigen tests on Wednesday.

The player who tested positive on Monday has received a second positive result and will continue to isolate until further notice.  In addition, as part of the track and trace protocols three members of the squad have been stood down and will continue to isolate for a period of time. All four players will be receiving full welfare and medical support from the club during their isolation period.

The second player who was tested on Wednesday after reporting symptoms to the club that morning produced an additional negative retest and is free to return to training immediately. The Rhinos players and staff returned to full training on Thursday ahead of Friday’s Coral Challenge Cup Quarter Final against Hull KR, which will go ahead as planned.

As part of the Super League wide testing programme, the clubs cover the costs of testing by the competition’s preferred testing partner Screen4. The Rhinos would like to thank Screen4 for the excellent service provided to the club throughout recent months and especially in the last 24 hours to allow a quick resolution ahead of Friday’s game.
