Saints crowned World Champions

St Helens have been crowned World Champions for a third time in the clubs history following a dramatic 13-12 golden point win over Penrith Panthers at the Blue Bet Stadium in Sydney.

Saints led 10-0 at the break after tries from Tommy Makinson and Konrad Hurrell before Penrith pegged Saints back to 12-12 with last minute try to push the game to golden point.

With the teams tied Mark Percival kicked off the first period of extra time. Saints forced an error on Penrith's second set giving them possession just 30m from the Panther's line. After three drives towards the posts, up stepped Lewis Dodd to slot over a drop goal and seal a dramatic and historic win for the Super League champions.
