History was made as the Betfred Super League headed the American continent for the first time at the weekend, with the game represented on a famous world stage.
It was a truly sensational performance from the Warriors, who produced an eight-try spectacle in front of a 45,000+ crowd and the thousands watching from home.
And it was Warriors wizard Bevan French who starred with a trademark performance, running for 209 metres in just 18 carries and making a terrific ten tackle busts. He also scored one try and provided one try assist, earning the deserved Player of the Match Award.

It was a similar story for plenty of the Wigan stars who also had excellent performances. In fact, there were five players in the Cherry & White who ran for over 100 metres alongside their teammate French.
These were Jai Field (139), Liam Marshall (206), Junior Nsemba (108) and Kruise Leeming (102), as well as Kaide Ellis who made a notable 132 metres in attack, with an applaudable 40 tackles in defence.
Exemplary Ellis was the top tackler for his side, whilst Liam Farrell and Leeming also notched up 20+ tackles – all playing a significant role in the Warriors’ win.
Closely behind French were Nsemba with seven tackle busts, Field with six and Marshall with five, as the Warriors truly shone in their explosive attack.
Without a doubt it was an exceptional team effort from Matt Peet’s men, with eight different try scorers touching down – Tyler Dupree (17′), Abbas Miski (23′), French (28′), Harry Smith (37′), Field (46′), Jake Wardle (53′), Luke Thompson (54) and Marshall (77′).

Meanwhile Adam Keighran impressed with the boot, converting eight out of eight goals.
In defeat, Wolves’ Matt Dufty and Matty Ashton surpassed 100 metres and scored a try each, with Arron Lindop and James Harrison their other two try scorers.
Ben Currie made the most tackles of any player on the pitch with 41 tackles, with Paul Vaughan and Danny Walker admirably making 30 tackles each in their respective 50-minute stints.
But it was always the Warriors who looked in charge.
Interestingly, however, there was little to separate the two sides where possession was concerned. The Warriors and Wolves shared near enough an even split of possession (Warriors 51%, Wolves 49%), with Warrington actually completing one set more than Wigan (28 sets).

In terms of metre making, Wigan made a total of 1557 in 190 carries, whilst Warrington made 1266 in 175 carries. This highlighted the closeness of the encounter initially, but it is clear that the Wolves were unable to break down the Warriors’ defensive line until the later stages.
Wigan only had to make 25 more tackles than Warrington in this game - again calling attention to their dominance in defence. Plus, there were only eight 'Play the Balls' from Wigan in their opposition’s 20 metres, whereas Warrington had 19 PTBs there – which means most of Wigan’s tries came from breaks.
Both teams produced a similar amount of tackle busts, and despite Wigan making just eight more (48), this demonstrated that the Cherry & Whites could turn their chances and possession into points.
Surprisingly, the Warriors made 13 errors to the Wolves’ 11 and both sides missed a similar amount of tackles. But this only further demonstrates how the champions managed to capitalise more when they had hold of the ball...
And that's how they emerged confident victors in Las Vegas!
