Dragons sign Faataape for next season

Catalans Dragons have announced another signing - and this time it's Solomona Faataape for the 2026 season.

The Australian centre, who currently plays for the Wests Tigers, has signed a two-year deal with the club.

Solomona Faataape said: “I’m feeling very grateful for the opportunity to soon be a part of such an incredible club. Playing in the Super League has always been a dream of mine.

"I’m excited to move over and can’t wait to dig in and work hard with the boys. I’m not here for a holiday, I want to bring success to this great club!”

After winning the Queensland Cup title with the Brisbane Tigers in 2023, he joined the Wests Tigers in 2024, making his NRL debut in Round 2 against the Raiders.

Faataape has predominantly played at centre but has also played on the wing.

He has made 19 NRL appearances during his career, scoring seven tries.

Faataape also has an impressive try-scoring record during his time in reserve grade, notching 43 tries in 68 games.

Dragons head coach, Joel Tomkins, said: “Solomona joins us some NRL experience and a clear focus on developing his game and helping the Dragons compete at the top level. His best years are still in front of him and we are excited to see what he can do in Super League.”
