Magic WKND Day Two Round Up
2 hrs
Day Two of Magic WKND 2026 got underway with an emphatic performance from Wakefield Trinity against their nearest and dearest, the Castleford Tigers.
Wakefield were on fire as Cam Scott, Tom Johnstone and Caleb Hamlin-Uele all bagged braces, before Lachlan Walmsley shone on his return to action, with an acrobatic finish in the corner and sensational try celebration.
Tyson Smoothy and Josh Rourke added themselves to Trinity's scoresheet and looked to be on course to nilling their local rivals, but Jason Qareqare replied for Cas with a minute to spare on the clock.
This is Trinity's biggest ever margin of victory over Castleford as they push towards a top four finish (48-6).
The second game of the day saw Leeds Rhinos and Bradford Bulls reunite their rivalry on the Magic WKND stage - 14-years in the making.
As fiery as it was, a spirited Bulls side simply could not stop a rampant Rhinos outfit, who moved four points clear at the top of the Betfred Super League following an incredible 50-16 victory.
Ash Handley's hat-trick inspired Leeds to the win, with Brodie Croft, Chris Hankinson, Jarrod O'Connor, James McDonnell, Jake Connor and Maiko Sivo - who has now scored a try in ten successive games - also touching down.
Bradford did make a game of it early on in the second half when Ethan Ryan scored twice in two minutes, but it was not enough to overcome the current league leaders.
Tempers flared in Game 7 of Magic WKND, as a blockbuster clash between old foes Wigan Warriors and St Helens brought the curtain down on an unforgettable weekend.
The Saints led initially through Jackson Hastings' penalty goal, but this was soon short-lived as Adam Keighran crossed in the corner for Wigan.
Jake Davies then regained the lead for Saints after taking in a wonderful Hastings pass to go over and score, but Jai Field in trademark fashion, raced away to put the Warriors ahead.
The Cherry & Whites' advantage was extended further when a gap opened up for Zach Eckersley on the right edge, but a late Jack Welsby try brought Saints back to within two points.
There was late drama as a last gasp penalty gave Hastings the chance to level the scores and send the game in Golden Point, but he was unable to convert, meaning derby day delight went the way of the Warriors (16-14).
Across England and France, a total of 82,925 fans turned out to make Magic WKND 2026 a special one to remember.
