Huddersfield Giants 22-38 Wigan Warriors

Wigan Warriors claimed a third consecutive win courtesy of a 38-22 victory over Huddersfield Giants, moving them level with fifth-placed Salford Red Devils in the Betfred Super League table.

Chris Hankinson scored in the corner for the visitors and although the Giants responded through Sam Hewitt, Sean O'Loughlin and Liam Marshall went over for Wigan.

Matt Frawley cut the gap to six points just before half-time, only for Joe Burgess and Thomas Leuluai to extend Wigan's lead to 30-12 five minutes after the interval.

George Williams also crossed before Huddersfield ended the game well with two late tries through Louis Senior and Jordan Turner.

Huddersfield coach Simon Woolford said: “I’m always one to look above and what we need to do to get into the five, I don’t normally take notice of what’s going on below but the reality is we might need to start again.

“When I got here last year we were in a predicament, where guys’ jobs were on the line and we were able to win 12 out of 13. I asked the lads if that is what it’s going to take to start putting in the effort required.

“At the moment the desire from our team is questionable at best.??

Wigan coach Adrian Lam said: “It was very pleasing. I think 70 minutes of it was probably our best 70 minutes of the season.

“Our energy and enthusiasm was fantastic. I thought we attacked the best we’ve attacked this year.??
