Charnley out to create history

“We’re still feeling the pain of losing here last year, we need to right that wrong."

Warrington Wolves will play the first game of the 2019 Super League Play-Off series when they host Castleford Tigers in the Eliminator Game.

It’s a straight shootout between the two lowest ranked teams in the Play-Off’s, whoever loses is out, Warrington will host the game as they finished in fourth position, one place above Castleford Tigers in fifth.

Warrington winger, Josh Charnley, knows what it feels like to win the Grand Final, he’s won it three times with Wigan but lost last year, to his old side, Wigan.

He believes the new play-off format suits the Wire after they went on to win the Challenge Cup this year.

“Looking back previously we don’t do too bad in knockout rugby, the pressure will definitely be on us but we’re just focussing on ourselves and looking to get that win.

“We’re taking this game as a final game, if we don’t win, we’re out, and we’re fully focussed on getting that win.

“We’ve had a tough few weeks in the competition, but this is a different ball game – we are relaxed – and hopefully we can tick this one off,??said Charnley.

Warrington last met Castleford at the Halliwell Jones in round five, they won 24-10, however, in the return fixture at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle, Cas won 27-18

“Cas are an exciting team to play against they throw the ball around well, it should be a good game to watch for the fans, and they’ve got some star players we have to be aware of.

“I’ve been lucky enough to play at Old Trafford and I’ve been on both sides of the result here, I’ve won here, and I’ve lost, it’s obviously a lot better being on the winning side.

“We’re still feeling the pain of losing here last year, we need to right that wrong, and get that ring back on the finger and create some history,?? admitted Charnley.
